The Devon Horse Show is one of the few places where "country fair" means shopping at a miniature Anthropologie, eating gourmet tea sandwiches for lunch, and a ladies hat contest that makes you feel like you're attending a royal wedding. It's also one of the few places that has totally unique horse classes where kids hunt teams are encouraged to "bribe" the judges and ride in full costumes (my favorite team this year was the Powderpuff girls who's horses each had flouresent colored hair to match their costumes). I just adore it. Me and my mom (that's her in her adorable hat by the fence!) spend all year talking about it now. It's aboslutely something to add to your "bucket list" if you're a horse lover:)
Saturday we spent all day at the Devon Horse Show and it was probably a little bit too much fun! Not only was it incredible to see the horses and riders do their thing (it was mostly jumping and hunt teams the day we were there), they had amazing shopping and some pretty good food too. Needless to say, I could totally live there and be a happy little clam.
The mini Anthropologie and mini Terrain were insanely cute, but pretty much all the vendors had something for us to fall in love with(rain boots? new breeches? vintage hunt photos? I'll take them all please!)
But, in the end, little could really distract me from drooling over some gorgeous horses and dreaming of a day when I could ride maybe just half as good as some of those kids!
Happy Memorial Day everyone! Hope you have a great day!
